Terms and Conditions

Effective date: 21st November 2025

This document outlines the terms and conditions for services provided to psychological therapy clients by Dr Susan Eley Morris Chartered Psychologist and Counselling Psychologist (HCPC Register PYL046201).

By confirming and attending the first therapy appointment, the client confirms their agreement to the terms and conditions below.

Confidentiality and Records

I provide professional services that are confidential; trustworthy; and discreet. Client privacy and confidentiality is protected with the utmost care and sensitivity, from initial enquiry to the end of therapy and beyond.

What is discussed in therapy is confidential between the client and therapist, barring exceptional circumstances where a client discloses either a risk of harm to themselves or others at which point we may have to share this information with relevant outside agencies. With your consent, it may be useful or necessary to share information with your GP; we would aim to discuss this beforehand but in exceptional circumstances this may not be possible.

I access regular professional individual consultation and group supervision with clinical psychologists, counselling psychologists or health psychologists where cases can be discussed to ensure quality and safe practice; any sharing of details is anonymised and is also bound by confidentiality guidelines.

Personal Information

Client information is handled and stored in accordance with GDPR regulations and is stored digitally on an encrypted system. Such information may comprise contact details, GP practice, and in case of emergency contact name and telephone number.

Any information noted on paper as part of clinical notes during sessions will be transferred onto an encrypted system, and hard copies will be shredded or handed to the client for their personal use.

Any identifying information in hard copy is stored securely. Client information will continue to be stored securely for seven years after therapy comes to an end. The client may request to access their personal information at any time.

Sessions

Sessions are offered in-person at Balallan House First Floor, Stirling, FK8 2QG and online (United Kingdom only) via Zoom. Your appointment is diarised for up to 60 minutes or up to 90 minutes.

I value your trust in our working together. Sessions cancelled by email will be considered a deferred session with a new appointment offered. I do not find it helpful to operate a ‘late cancellation and payment of fees policy’. If something gets in the way of working together at our appointment time, there is no fee payable. Clients arriving part-way through their diarised time will be seen to the end of the diarised time only and the fee will apply.

Professional fee

My professional fee is set on an annual basis. Your fee amount will be shared by email at the time of arranging the first appointment for therapy.  You can be assured that your fee amount remains the same per appointment for the duration of our work together.

Payment of fees

Client preference for a specific payment method may be possible.

Bank transfers are payable to a business account.

I do not accept cash, gift cards or gifts.

Contact between sessions

Email will be used in-between sessions for the purposes of confirming appointments in the diary.

Crisis

Dr. Susan is not able to provide crisis mental health support. Clients who require urgent professional attention in relation to their mental health, including if you are suicidal or in crisis, are advised to contact their GP Surgery. The NHS 24 service: telephone number 111 is available to give help and advice. In life-threatening circumstances, please call 999.
